26th November 2007: Dortech Secures CityGate Contract

Dortech are delighted to confirm their appointment as Curtain Walling Subcontractor for Tiger Developments City Gate project in Sheffield.

Dortech's curtain walling contract is worth in excess of £800k and includes the design, manufacture, supply and installation of aluminium; Curtain Walling, Windows and Doors.

This stunning new landmark mixed use scheme is prominently situated at the South West gateway to Sheffield City Centre and will be due for completion mid 2008.

The scheme was designed by Bond Bryan Architects, Springvale Road, Sheffield. Technals Trame Horizontale aluminium Curtain Walling system was incorporated in the design to deliver a strong horizontal emphasis.

The office development will incorporate a spectacular 11 storey building with 8 storeys of superb high specification office accommodation, totaling 58,125 sq ft (5,400 sq m) and a 4 storey podium car park, alongside a new 120 bedroom Tulip Inn Hotel.

July 2007: Dortech Secure Their First E-Tender

Dortech has successfully secured their first e-tender for glazing works to an existing Tesco store in Burnley. The work will be carried out for Taylor Woodrow Construction and comprises of aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors and automated entrances.

Today Dortech successfully fabricated their first unitised curtain walling panel for Wintech (UK) testing with the assistance of Wicona (Hydro Group). This is a landmark strategic development for Dortech and proves their capabilities in this market sector.

Wicona (Hydro group) has recently appointed Dortech as its first UK supplier of the EL Unitised Curtain Walling System. Dortech aim to be in a position to offer this as a facade solution for application to mid-large scale, high-rise projects in the last quarter of 2007.

Dortech hosted a visit for a team of architects from Carey Jones, one of the UK’s leading architectural, master planning and interior design practices. Dortech delivered a presentation which aimed to offer an insight into the processes and procedures involved in the; design, fabrication and installation of aluminium framed glazing products.

May 2007: The Queen visits Huddersfield University

Queen Elizabeth II visited Huddersfield University today during her tour of Yorkshire. Dortech has been successful in securing the glazing package for the new Creative Arts Building for HBG Construction at the University which is due to commence site installation in July.
