Job description:

We are looking to expand our team with an experienced Glazing Maintenance Surveyor. The position will require you to assist in surveying potential jobs as part of the role – so being able to demonstrate good technical knowledge, great communications and customer skills is a big plus.

Dortech Maintenance are currently experiencing rapid growth, and we’re looking for the right candidate who can help us push forward with the influx of jobs we are receiving.

We also partner with Leeds based charity Candlelighters. Candlelighters are a Leeds based charity that look after kids with cancer and their families. We donate £10 to the charity for every job we complete worth £100 and over.

The Role involves:

  • To survey jobs and create reports for estimating
  • Talking to and meeting customers
  • Running jobs from start to finish making sure they run correctly
  • Producing Risk Assessments & Method Statements
  • Quality checking materials and deliveries for each project

Successful Candidate Attributes will include:

  • Minimum 2 years of surveying experience
  • Great attention to detail

Salary/Hours:

Dortech is a long-established (Est 1993), growing architectural glazing manufacturer, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

We utilise glazing systems by Technal, Schueco and Senior Architectural Systems and are now looking to expand our fabrication team further.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of and grow with our dynamic, successful production team.

Duties involve:

  • Fabricating doors and windows using Aluminium.
  • Reading technical drawings.
  • Using hand tools.

Dortech is an equal opportunities employer, located in Huddersfield. We are looking for a Site Manager to work alongside our Contracts Department. The successful candidate must have proficiency and experience in the management and delivery of commercial glazing contracts up to £3 million in value. Most projects are located within close geographic proximity to the M62 Motorway.

Softer Skills – The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in the commercial glazing sector
  • IT Proficiency
  • Ability to communicate well
  • Experience in a customer-facing capacity
  • Ability to create, implement and deliver glazing works packages within specific timeframes
  • Must have the ability to work well within a team
  • People management experience
  • Problem resolution experience

Required education & experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing glazing projects
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
  • IOSH Managers Training or Equivalent
  • Full clean UK Driver’s License

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Producing weekly site reports
  • Managing Health & Safety on Site (site reports, risk assessments, audits)
  • Updating RAMS when applicable
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on programme
  • Managing and coordinating all site based activities associated with the successful delivery of our projects
  • Attending Contracts Meeting
  • Attending site co–ordination meetings
  • Must have some contractual awareness
  • Delivering projects within budget
  • Managing a quality delivery
  • Managing sub-contract trades on site (sub-contractors)
  • Managing Main Contractors (correspondents, Day works, variations, instructions, delays etc..)

Job Specifics/Salary:

  • Minimum Hours per week: 37.5 hours
  • Operating hours: Mon to Thurs 8:15am to 5:00pm, Fri 8:15am to 3:45pm (nature of job will require some flexibility)
