Dixons Free School, in Bradford, which recently featured on ITV Calendar News opened its doors on time thanks to the hard work of Dortech Maintenance’s expert team of site engineers.

Leeds based Wates Construction, commissioned Dortech to undertake a significant amount of window and door maintenance work, including; servicing over 135 pivot windows which were originally installed in 1983, realigning all the fire escape doors, servicing the automatic entrance doors to the schools reception and refurbishing the main entrance facade.

The Main Entrance doors were refurbished incorporating Dorstrong TM enhancements.

Dixons Trinity Academy will open with 112 Year 7 students. The school is already over-subscribed and has heard several admission appeals. Over the next 6 years it will build to its full capacity of 720 students from Year 7 to Year 13.

The free schools, sponsored by Dixons City Academy, were set up to help meet an expected shortfall in school places in the district, which has one of the fastest-rising populations in the country.

Lucy Dodds, from Wates Construction for this project congratulated Dortech for a job well done, stating:

“you did a very professional job, which was completed on time and within budget. We would definitely use you again on further projects and we are very happy with the service, correspondence and workmanship you have undertaken whilst on this project.”
