Dortechs company car policy has just changed to incorporate low emission/carbon neutral vehicles wherever possible. To facilitate this change, four charging points have just been installed around the perimeter of our factory. The first three vehicles have arrived with further orders arriving later on in 2017. Dortechs Divisional MD, Paul Trueman commented:

“We’ve made this change from a moral standpoint; as the company continues to grow, so does our fleet of vehicles. Our resulting carbon emissions subsequently increase and the effect that we have on the environment worsens. Even if your vehicle was to be fuelled exclusively by electricity generated by coal, Electric Vehicles have a better emissions profile than internal combustion vehicles. From a cost perspective; for lower mileage drivers, the costs to the company & the individual of running an electric vehicle over it’s lifetime are much lower. The vehicle can be charged at home enabling you to spend more time with your family, or whilst in the office, improving productivity, instead of making regular, inconvenient stops to the petrol station. Our objective is to convert at least 90% of our fleet to electric vehicles by 2020.”
