We are delighted to announce that we have just completed glazing works to Saddleworth School, on behalf of Tilbury Douglas. This £27 million school, in Oldham has been designed to accommodate 1,500 students aged between 11 to 16. The School, which is located on a 14.3 acre site, has been constructed under the Governments Priority School Building Programme (PSBP).

Over 1,900m2 of architectural glazing has been designed, manufactured and installed by Dortech on this fantastic project in accordance with lead architects, JM Architects design. Dortech provided curtain walling, aluminium windows and entrance doors, utilising glazing systems from Senior Architectural Systems PURe range, which uses an innovative, enhanced thermal barrier manufactured from expanded polyurethane (PUR) allowing ultra-low U-values to be achieved.

We are proud to say that we maintained leading performance scores throughout the project which was facilitated through the excellent project management and communications from the Tilbury Douglas team.

Dortech Managing Director, Paul Trueman announced;

With the construction climate being what it is, with many focussing on driving cost downwards, whilst sacrificing quality and delivery, it makes such a refreshing change to work with such forward thinking, positive Main Contractors like Tilbury Douglas. Their Site team are to be commended for engendering such a strong team spirit and collaborative culture on this site. We are pleased Tilbury Douglas selected Dortech to carry out the glazing work on this project and look forward to working with them again, in the near future.”
